Code-Bounty/eHealth Fellow – Namibia iHRIS Manage Customization for FBO: Intern support

Background          

IntraHealth Namibia has been supporting Human Resources Information System (HRIS) strengthening in Namibia since 2008. We have been working with the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS) and various stakeholders to support the establishment of a national HRIS focusing on the health workforce.  IntraHealth is now looking at implementing iHRIS Manage for three Faith Based Organizations (FBOs) in Namibia and will work with the FBOs to define and document their customization requirements.  IntraHealth Namibia will be engaging local interns with the aim of building a local pool of developers to support future customization of iHRIS Manage.  The eHealth Fellow will provide technical support to the interns whilst they take the online iHRIS administrator course and complete mini projects to ensure they are building the required expertise in learning how to customize iHRIS Manage and develop reports.

SCOPE OF WORK:

The scope of work is to provide technical support to the interns in:

  • Completing the online iHRIS administrators course;
  • Installation of Ubuntu and the iHRIS software;
  • Customization of the iHRIS software;
  • Assistance in building of reports;
  • Maintain regular communication with the Namibian HRIS team to ensure skills transfer as intended
  • Write at least one blog article about the process and which contains the consultant’s contact information

 

EXPECTATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  1. The applicant should be available for up to ten hours of on-line support per week during the period the interns are employed (6 months duration);
  2. Proven experience in installation and customization of the iHRIS Manage software;
  3. Work closely with the IntraHealth HRIS advisor throughout assignment to coordinate and prioritize eHealth Fellows projects;
  4. Write documentation needed by IntraHealth in support of its iHRIS internship program.

Methodology and Available Resource Materials

The chosen candidate will have access to the iHRIS Manage resources available through CapcityPlus, the Namibian HRIS team members as well as all needed documentation.

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate fluently in English.
  • Documented experience in customizing iHRIS
  • Documented experience in providing remote support for iHRIS
  • Ability to work well with a team

Cover letters should include the expected number of days to complete the assignment, expected daily rate in US$ at 8 hrs/day. Please note, daily rates less than $50 are preferred.
