Article Recognizes Impact of iHRIS Software in Tanzania

An article in the October edition of the Christian Social Services Commission (CSSC) newsletter recognizes the impact of the iHRIS software in Tanzania. CSSC, the largest faith-based organization in the country, is partnering with the IntraHealth-led Tanzania Human Resource Capacity Project (THRP) to implement iHRIS Manage in the private sector. The article reports on a September meeting of CSSC representatives and other stakeholders to review first year activities.

The meeting participants acknowledged the completion of a key activity to roll out iHRIS Manage. The software is now in use at each of the CSSC’s five zonal offices. The article states that this accomplishment has led to a high demand for HR information, as well as increased knowledge about THRP’s work.

The article highlights several recommendations from the meeting. Attendees suggested there is now a need to raise awareness on data analysis and utilization at the facility level, and that a pool of “trainers of trainees” should be established to support this. Also, in order to sustain the work after the project ends and create local ownership, facilities should be encouraged to include an ICT budget in their annual plan.
